First understand the concepts
GEO usually means visibility activities in generative responses, and AEO means optimization for answering systems. These are not uniform standards or certificates. In the contractor's offer, what is more important than the abbreviation is the scope: what systems it checks, what it implements and how it measures the result.
Google indicates that its generative features are based on the basics of search. They do not require a special schema tag or llms.txt file; there is also no recommended text length written exclusively "for AI".
Control access and owner settings
Check whether important content is public, whether the robot can download it and whether the selected page can be indexed. Settings for participation in generative features in Search Console are also important for Google. This is a separate inspection described in current documentation; the robots.txt test itself will not read it.

In your organization, name the person responsible for these decisions. Search access control and model training content policy are different topics - do not combine them into one "AI Ready" rating.
Add information that the recipient is missing
Instead of rewriting a general description of the industry, show the scope of the service, conditions, selection criteria and limitations of the solution. Your own photos, real parameters and documented experiences can help a person make a decision. Don't make up customer stories or test results to make your text look more expert.
List five questions a customer asks before a quote. Answer them on the page, adding relevant terms. Check the answers with the person providing the service. It's useful material regardless of whether it gets cited by AI.
Measure share, not "position in every AI"
The answers depend on the query, context and system. A single screenshot is not a stable ranking. Record the platform, date, question, quoted address and any entries. Website accessibility and good content do not guarantee citation. Separate activities confirmed by documentation from hypotheses that you just want to test.
FOR USE IN PRACTICE
Your checklist
- Define the systems and questions that are important to your audience.
- Check access, indexing and owner settings.
- Complete the offer with verified information.
- Report citations and traffic as different metrics.
