Turn a marketing slogan into verifiable information

“Best quality” does not explain who a product is suitable for. Review an important page and mark claims that need evidence: material, intended use, device compatibility or delivery time. Assign a source and someone who can confirm each claim is current.

If you describe your own measurement, state its conditions, date and method. Do not add results from tests that were never performed. If you only have a manufacturer’s statement, identify it as such. This helps readers evaluate information without attributing undocumented experience to your company.

Compare using explicit criteria

When comparing solutions, start with user needs: installation, maintenance, limitations and the total process cost. Then enter the data into a table. Mark missing information as unavailable instead of giving a lower score to a product you have not examined.

Example: a guide to decorative mouldings

Instead of ranking “the best moulding”, compare use cases: dry rooms, moisture exposure, the supporting surface and painting method. Verify specifications in the documentation for the particular model. Separate technical data from opinions about appearance. This comparison structure is an editorial suggestion, not an assessment of a particular brand’s products.

Give passages enough context

An important passage should identify the product or service and the conditions under which its information applies. “This solution always works” is unclear when separated from its heading. Name the solution, describe the limitation and link to details. You do not need to repeat your company name in every sentence.

Establish one place for maintaining specifications. If a price or service scope appears in three guides, an editor needs to know which passages must change together. Linking to the current offer can be more sensible than copying a changing table into several articles.

Separate source references from business results

The AI Performance report in Bing Webmaster Tools shows citations across supported AI experiences. A citation count is not a ranking or a click count.

Keep separate columns for the cited URL, period, visits and useful enquiries. Record content changes so you can later assess your hypothesis. One assistant response is an observation, not proof of sustained visibility.

FOR USE IN PRACTICE

Your checklist

  • State the source and conditions of every important claim.
  • Compare solutions by user needs, not arbitrary points.
  • Separate citations, visits and sales enquiries.
